The Saskatoon Youth Orchestra needs your financial support more than ever!
June 2022
Dear Friends of the SYO,
I'll be frank with you: the SYO needs your financial help.
We have suffered through two years of lost revenue from our typical fundraising opportunities. One of those years we didn't operate at all, so no fees could be collected, even though many of our costs remained the same.
We rely upon those various sources of income to keep the SYO in a healthy financial position. This past year we have been forced to use our reserves - so diligently built up over the years by our dedicated volunteer board members - to pay our costs.
The SYO has been providing orchestral music opportunities for Saskatoon and area youth for more than 60 years. When these players come together on stage, they are learning, building confidence, and building friendships that may last a lifetime. Our young players need the opportunity to be with other musicians, possibly now more than ever before.
Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to the Saskatoon Youth Orchestra Inc., so that we can continue to offer a program that supports and encourages musical endeavours in our community while keeping the cost as low as possible for families. After all, where would this world be without music?

SYO Executive Director

SYO Alumni & Friends Orchestra Summer Concert
The SYO is inviting past players to come back and play together this summer for a fundraising concert.
Music Director Richard Carnegie has selected a fun repertoire for this summer concert, including Pomp & Circumstance, Pirates of the Caribbean, How to Train Your Dragon and Star Wars!
There is no cost to participate. Rehearsals go Thursday, July 28 and Thursday, Aug. 4 from 7-9:30 pm in Quance Theatre in the Education Building at USask. Music will be made available by early July.
If you are an SYO alum and would like to participate, please contact Paul at info@syo.ca.
The concert is set for 7 pm, Friday, Aug. 5 in Quance Theatre. Invite your friends and family to come hear you play, while supporting the SYO!
Ticket sales for this event will go to support the SYO Inc., and a portion of the funds raised will go to the Bishop Filevich Ukrainian Bilingual School band program, to support music education for Ukrainian newcomers to Saskatoon.
