Dust off your instruments, we are doing it again! The annual SYO Alumni and Friends Summer Orchestra Concert goes Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025.
You are invited to take part in a fun summer orchestral concert with the Saskatoon Youth Orchestra. We are inviting past, current and future players, as well as our friends in the community to come together to make music for fun and to raise money for the music program at St. John Community School and the SYO Player Fee Assistance Fund.
Who will participate?
- Former players of the SYO or Saskatoon Strings!
- Friends of the SYO Inc. who play orchestral instruments!
- Music/band teachers and private tutors!
- Current players who want to play over the summer!
- Brand new SYO players set to start in 2025-26!
- All players of orchestral instruments most welcome!

- Finale from Symphony No 5 by Shostakovich arr. Bulla

- Finale from New World Symphony by Dvorak

In past years, this joint fundraising concert has raised funds for both the SYO Player Fee Assistance fund and our partners in youth music education: the Bishop Filevich Ukrainian Bilingual School band program, Ecole Alvin Buckwold School Band program, and the Heart of the City Piano Program. This year, we will be supporting the St. John Community School music program.
